I’m shocked we don’t see this comment more often.

It shows up now. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for updates to show up.

Those are fantastic! I love this sort of artwork, and have always wished I had the skill to do it. Great work.

Works for me! Looks cool. That first one reminds me a bit of a Rutan Quickie!

I love the Rutans’ stuff. (I’m sure that’s obvious)

Thanks! I wish I could play the music I compose in my head. I switched over to drawing as the thing I could do... then the industry switched to CAD, so I’ve had to do that instead.
I wish I could do this all day, every day. These sketches are 2003-4.

I remember coming across this illustration from Valerian a few years ago. I absolutely love stuff like this. Sadly, the movie itself was quite a disappointment. One of my favorite books that I still own is the Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook . It’s one of my treasures. The sketchbook for Star Wars is a highly priced collector’s item now that I wish I had.

I have a lot of those books. The SW Prequel stuff was mostly done by grads from the same program I did at CCS in the late 90s
. Doug Chiang (and his brother, Sid), Jay Schuster (whose dad was the modeling manager at GM, I inherited a few of his clay tools). A few of them worked at Ford. Jay Schuster, in particular, has always been a huge inspiration. He’s been at Pixar for a long time.

Yes. I grew up reading a lot of science fiction, and the cover artwork always fascinated me. One of my favorite covers, and also one of my all time favorite books, is Gateway by Frederik Pohl. Artwork by none other than Boris Vallejo. Of course, the artwork itself has nothing to do with the story, but that’s not surprising.

I have a line for John Berkey artwork up for auction, haven’t been able to buy one yet.

Cool sketch, but the wing’s anhedral is triggering my OCD.

But it wouldn’t look half as good with a decent dihedral.
